WHO WE ARE
OUR TEAM AT FIXemALL
MARGOT HOMBURG

An animal lover to the core is what I am. Unwanted companion animals became my passion a bit later in life though.

While living in Japan, during my walks with my 4 dogs, I discovered a real need for people there to learn more about their dogs in order to better understand these animals’ behaviour and needs. Therefore, I started conducting my “Dog Talks” in which I explained why dogs are the way they are and do the things they do. These sessions were great fun and became very popular resulting in an appearance on Japanese TV as well.

From Japan I moved to Thailand and thought to continue these “Dog Talks”; however, I quickly recognized the urgent need in this country to help reduce the large numbers of street and stray dogs and embarked on my mission to get these type dogs sterilized, including cats. After 3 years of dog work in Bangkok, I moved to the resort island Phuket. During the following years in Phuket, especially after going through the devastating tsunami in S.E. Asia the end of December of 2004, I was motivated to organize my sterilization work more formally and also recruited help from others. I established “Soi Dog Foundation”, the first officially recognized foundation in Thailand to benefit dogs and cats created by a foreigner. While the organization carries on to thrive and does great work, I moved back to Bangkok in 2007 where I continued facilitating sterilization programs for unwanted animals.
The tourist coastal town of Hua Hin located South of Bangkok appeared on my radar while a safe-haven was created North of there for strays affected by the massive 2011 floods of Bangkok and large parts of the country North of the city. Massive numbers of strays were clearly visible in the Hua Hin and In 2018 I decided to move there to see how I could help.

In Hua Hin is where my path crossed with Caroline Meier, who’s heart so much aligned with mine with regards to the plight of strays and other animals too. We started getting strays sterilized here and there through various means, ultimately leading to establishing FIXemALL in late August 2020 after Caroline developed a relationship with government (DNP) veterinarian Dr. Joke (Adisak Lertbanchong).

De-sexing procedures are paid for by Margot Homburg as well as extra costs of blow-darting by a local government-shelter assistant and TVT treatments for which there are no other.
